What Is Your Home Worth

What is Your Home Really Worth?

A great question to ask! We can tell you that it is unlikely to be worth what Zillow.com and other online “estimators” give you as a value. Their calculations are based on various types of information and the information that these tools draw on are frequently inaccurate and/or incomplete.

Street of large suburban homes

Sometimes these estimates are way off.  As an example, we once listed two homes in Boulder that were almost exactly the same. They were both new construction built at the same time and were literally on the same lot. They had the same floor plan and the same level of finish.  Zillow.com estimated the value for one home to be almost $100,000 less than its twin next door.

Home values are affected by size, location, views, finish, traffic noise, garage sizes, neighbors, and a whole host of other things.

If you want an accurate estimate of your home’s real value, it is important to consult with a licensed appraiser or experienced Realtor®.
